The Itria Valley.

The Itria Valley is the limestone plateau between Bari and Taranto where the trulli — conical drystone houses with whitewashed walls — sit among olive groves and dry-stone field boundaries. Ostuni, Locorotondo and Cisternino crown the ridges; Carovigno and Savelletri sit closer to the Adriatic. The pace is set by the late southern lunch and the slow northern light off the bleached walls. This is calmcation Puglia: not the beach-club coast, but the white towns and quiet masseria farmhouses inland.
