The reception was open 24h with necessities for sale which you paid by inserting money in a box when unmanned. The host family was exceptionally kind and took their time to chat and explain even if busy in their farming work. It was like a small paradise in a beautiful landscape of Åland with scents of early Summer and concert of nesting birds around. We did rent electric bikes from Mariehamn after exiting Viking line boats and it took us one and a half hours and 25km to reach Svinö with several stops, from where the ferry goes to Föglö (30min). 5 km remained after ferry to reach the Westergårds.”
