Quiet

The hotel's central location in the old town means street-facing rooms can experience noise from lively bars and restaurants, particularly in the mornings. However, the hotel provides earplugs, and some guests still found it reasonably quiet.

Rooms facing the street can be a little noisy—understandable given the Old Town location with its lively bars and restaurants. Light sleepers may notice it, though the hotel thoughtfully provides earplugs.

Several guests noted a significant lack of privacy in the bathrooms, with open showers and toilets directly connected to the room, often without a proper door, which was found uncomfortable when sharing.

The bathroom in the room has no privacy, easily managed but not ideal.

complaintUKJun 2025

Open shower and toilet was uncomfortable to share with a partner, but it was ok to have a shared toilet.

complaintKoreaMay 2025

The toilet is directly connected with the rest of the room without a proper door, just a salon swingy kind of door.

For light sleepers or those sensitive to noise, it would be advisable to request a room not facing the street due to potential noise from the lively old town. Guests should also be aware that some bathrooms lack privacy with open designs or minimal doors.

complaintUKJun 2025

Our room didn’t have a shower except in the bathtub. It also didn’t have a door/ curtain to the bathroom so one couldn’t take a bath or be in the bathroom without others in the room being there.

Why we chose this stay · Tier B

HoMe Hotel Menorca offers a strong calmcation experience with its homely atmosphere, excellent service, and village access. While it's in a lively town, the hotel's character and amenities like the courtyard and beach provisions align well with our criteria. The privacy issues in bathrooms and potential street noise are minor caveats preventing a Tier A rating.

Nice rooms, nicely decorated, good facilities in the hotel (fridge, kettle, nespresso), great central location, very nice staff

I was greeted by a lovely young man, Josep.. He took me to my room at the very top of the old building and then down to the ground floor where he showed me the kitchen, living room, and lovely private patio. I think the hotel only has 5 rooms. My room was bright, small, quaint and charming with a lovely terrace. There was a walk-in closet and a nice clean bathroom. I especially appreciated the heater on the wall, given that it was chilly outside. The electric kettle, refrigerator, stove top, and toaster oven were all 3 floors down in the shared kitchen. The location of the hotel in the old section of Ciutadella is perfect.

My room was cleverly designed, with a spacious feel and even a bath, which was a real treat. It also seems to draw a wonderful crowd; every guest I met during my stay was warm and friendly. I would absolutely recommend HoMe and will definitely be returning the next time I’m on the island. Thank you, Josep—hope to see you again soon!
