Private outdoor space

Terrace, balcony, or garden per room

The property offers extensive outdoor spaces, including gardens and lawns, with cottages nestled among trees, creating a pleasant natural environment.

The cottage was well equipped and maintained in a rustic style, set in a grove of trees, something that was very rare on our trip. The photos on the page don't do the trees justice that are now much taller and form a lovely canopy.

6.0good

While not directly on a lake or sea, the hotel is very close to several significant waterfalls and canyons, offering natural water features and associated hiking opportunities.

The location was extremely good, with the cottage a stone's throw away from the spectacular waterfalls Seljalandsfoss and Gjufubrui. The owner also pointed us to the Nauthusagil waterfall located in a ravine close by and accessible through a short but challenging hike involving climbing up a short wall using chains.

praiseGermanyAug 2025

Area around has a lot to offer - major waterfalls, canyon, hiking, F roads, views to the glacier and mountains.

Lots of greenery. Very Close to seljalandsfoss and hidden gem nauthusagil.

The hotel is described as remote, requiring a drive on gravel roads, and is 25-30 minutes from a grocery store. While not directly adjacent to a village, it serves as a base for day trips to other attractions.

My husband dismayed at the remoteness and gravel road as he was the primary driver.

The property offers a sense of isolation and privacy due to its location and the host's proximity, though some cottages may feel small internally.

The cottage itself is a little too small, the bed in one bedroom blocked the door from closing and there was no closet space, so we lived out of our suitcases.

One review mentioned a discrepancy regarding breakfast inclusion for an apartment booking, suggesting a potential communication issue rather than a hidden fee.

It was said by message that there was breakfast included, but when we arrived, the lady said that we not be able to get breakfast. We had to look for an open market to get some food.
