Village within reach

Walkable small town or harbour
6.0good

The hotel is situated between Katapola port and Chora, requiring a 30-minute walk or a short drive. While a car is recommended for convenience, taxis and a bus service are available, and the host offers transport.

The hotel is in between the port and the Chora. As we did not drive, it was a 30-min walk to reach either of these places. There is a bus, but it does not circulate often. However, there is an excellent taxi service offered and the walks are quite nice (maybe not in the peak of summer ;-)).

complaintSwitzerlandJun 2025

Superb location, perched high up in the hills above Katapola, although a car or scooter are probably best to get around. We did manage to get taxis down to the port and back one evening though, for just €6, and the bus dropped us right outside when we first arrived from Aegiali.

praiseUKJun 2025

It is best to have a rental car to stay here because there isn't much around the hotel itself. You NEED a car to explore the island and even to drive down to the small and quaint town of Katapola.

Why we chose this stay · Tier B

Skopelitis Village offers a strong calmcation experience with exceptional hospitality, private outdoor spaces with views, and a focus on local, homemade food. The need for a car to fully explore the island and reach nearby villages slightly detracts from a perfect A-tier score, but the overall atmosphere and service are highly aligned.
