We arrived by bike, so our timing was quite unpredictable, yet despite getting there after 8 PM, we received an incredibly warm and heartfelt welcome. That kind of hospitality already set the tone for the whole experience. Motovun itself is a hidden gem. In this period (mid-April), not only are cars unable to access the hilltop, but there are barely any tourists either—making the atmosphere peaceful, authentic, and almost magical. Breakfast was simply outstanding—rich, generous, and full of local specialties. The highlight was the scrambled eggs with truffle (!), which felt almost royal. Our bikes were stored safely, which was a big plus for us as cyclists. Highly recommended!”
