Private outdoor space

Terrace, balcony, or garden per room
7.0strong

Some rooms offer private terraces, though views from these can be limited depending on the room's design. The main terrace offers beautiful views.

We opted to upgrade to a room with a terrace but it was built into the roof so when you sat down you couldn’t see the view. However was a great sun trap for drying clothes.

complaintUKAug 2025

Beautiful views from the terrace and pool.

We didn't have a view (which is of the beautiful mountains from the pool) but had a terrace.

Village within reach

Walkable small town or harbour
6.0good

The hotel is located near Consell, with some guests walking into the village. However, many note that a car is needed for convenience due to the hotel's location, and taxi services can be expensive.

We did end up walking into Consell most mornings to get an early coffee, which was lovely so swings and roundabouts!

complaintUKAug 2025

The location was the main drawback. Unless you drive or get a taxi it's difficult to get to and from.

complaintUKJul 2025

Car needed- but I knew that when booking

Nature immersion

Surroundings and outdoor stillness
8.0very strong

The hotel is set in stunning natural surroundings, with well-maintained grounds that include fruit trees, vineyards, and olive groves, offering a strong sense of nature immersion.

The grounds were also very well maintained, and we were surrounded by nature. They grow their own fruit and produce wine and olive oil.

Guests suggest being mindful of room selection; some terraces may lack views, and specific rooms (like Room 4) can be noisy. It is advisable to confirm room features and location upon booking.

We opted to upgrade to a room with a terrace but it was built into the roof so when you sat down you couldn’t see the view. However was a great sun trap for drying clothes.

complaintUKAug 2025

Room 4 is noisy as the neighbour area is a wine fridge. Compressor switching on and off.

Things to know

Warnings and unexpected charges
5.0mixed

While not hidden fees from the hotel itself, guests noted that external taxi costs can be unexpectedly high due to meter starting points, and some found the breakfast price to be poor value.

All the local taxis will only pick you up if they can start the meter from their current location meaning a €10 journey in fact often ended up costing €25+.

complaintUKJul 2025

I would also say the breakfast is poor value at €18.

Why we chose this stay · Tier B

Sa Cabana strongly aligns with the calmcation ethos, offering a peaceful, adult-only environment with excellent service, good food, and natural surroundings. The need for a car for village access and some minor room-specific issues prevent it from reaching Tier A, but it is a solid B-tier calmcation.

We rented a suite. Very spaceous and comfortable with a terrific view. The bed was marvelous and the shower and toilet were very good too. We even used the hot tub once which was comfortable, but just a little bit to easy to spill water on to the living room. The spa was very nice as well and the environment breathes peace and quiet. Perfect for use after a day of exploring the island. And let's not forget the wonderful breakfast!
