“We changed rooms as the first room looked onto the balinese sunbeds, and we felt overlooked. The 2nd room, just a few doors down, was fine. We had a room with a dip pool, extremely nice but the sun was only on the pool until about 12.30.”

“We went in October and the swimming pool was absolutely freezing. We couldn’t get in it however the sea was still a comfortable temperature so we walk to the beach instead which was a less than five minute walk.”

“The pool area is stunning, and there are plenty of sunbathing spots to relax and unwind. I also went to the lago resort hotel down the road to use their gym, spa and pool area as it gets more sun.”

“We loved the salted pool and the day beds were incredibly comfortable and relaxing.”

“The hotel is in a secluded part of the island, which made getting around a bit tricky. To reach the main road, you have to drive in the opposite direction, and with only one (very expensive) taxi company on the island, we felt a bit stuck. That said, the hotel itself is so beautiful and comfortable, you could easily stay put and enjoy it without needing to leave.”

“The restaurants outside the hotel are meant for tourists. Medium food with very high rates.”

“Location. It’s a 5 star feel hotel in a 2 star area. Limited choice at the restaurants on the marina if you have any dietary restrictions and that it for your choice of places to eat, unless you dine in the expensive onsite restaurants. The marina is very “Brits Abroad” and caters pretty much for the British crowds… the “tapas” consists of chicken fingers and fries in many places. We took a cab to Ciutadella for 2 days in a row just for something to do and for some decent places to eat.”

“The only thing I don’t like is the open shower. It’s not ideal for two friends sharing or if you’re a bit shy.”

“I prefer a harder pillow and felt the pillows were a bit on the softer side, but not really a complaint. Still slept fine”

“This hotel and the staff were amazing. Couldn’t do enough and nothing was ever a problem. The rooms are beautiful and clean and the staff are so attentive. Every day you get a 8pm treat brought to your room. The best service we have ever had.”

“The breakfast at FOC was incredible – honestly, I’d pay to eat here even if I wasn’t staying at the hotel. The menu is amazing, with both an extensive buffet selection and made-to-order dishes that feel like dining in a top restaurant.”

“The breakfast was amazing. Really good selection of pastries, meats etc in the buffet plus an a la carte menu where you can order various options (all very tasty and freshly made). Probably the best hotel breakfast of all the hotels I’ve stayed in.”

“We had booked for the dining experience. I knew we would have a choice of between 14 restaurants but didn't realise that we would be restricted to a limited menu. Couldn't fault the food anywhere, but as my husband has a very small appetite , and we couldn't, in most of the restaurants, substitute the main meal, a lot of food was wasted. So, for us, that was a waste of money.”

“I know guests can use the pool at the other Casas del Lago hotel over the bridge but we much preferred the pool at our hotel and were told the Balinese beds at the other pool cost €30 to hire for the day (although with drinks included).”
