While the hotel is located in the Douro valley, access roads are noted as narrow and challenging, suggesting it is not directly within a village but rather on its outskirts or nearby.

Access rodes and enterence are challenging for a wide car

People says it is complicated to get there, but nothing dangerous. Just very narrow streets and sharp turns, aka Portugal.

9.0exceptional

The food, including breakfast, lunch, and a three-course dinner, receives consistent high praise for its quality, freshness, and use of local, homemade ingredients, often from the on-site garden.

The food is amazing we had breakfast and dinner on both of the days that we stayed.

praiseUSApr 2026

The breakfasts were fabulous with a large array of delicious choices.

praiseCAMar 2026

Maria makes a wonderful breakfast spread with cooked to order eggs (fried, benedict, scrambled, etc.) and incredible coffee or tea (again any way you want it). For lunch, they offer a substantial menu of classic Portuguese bites, super fresh salads (we got the smoked salmon) and sandwiches. Plan a day by the pool and have lunch! Last but certainly not least, Cristiano offers a 3-course meal for dinner served on the pool deck. The dishes prepared were seriously some of the best I've ever had and for sure our favorite while visiting Portugal. They use fresh ingredients, including some from their garden on site and everything is local and homemade (even the butter!). Plan to have dinner here every night you won't regret it!

This was such a wonderful stay. Our room was lovely, with a nice balcony overlooking the property. The property was gorgeous, with comfortable lounging areas both inside and out. There was a wood burning fireplace in the main area that made the space so cozy that one night we curled up with blankets on the couch and spent a few hours just reading and relaxing. Everyone was so friendly and considerate of our needs and the service was impeccable. The breakfasts were fabulous with a large array of delicious choices. Would highly recommend!
